Need PSU advice

Thread Starter
So last week my psu started going nuts and restarted my PC randomly. Now I need a new psu and would like some advice and opinions smile.gif I have my eye on a few models but am open to other brands if they are worth it. I am looking for a psu that is at least partially modular and has a silent fan, but most importantly, is reliable. These are the ones I looked at:

Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 620W
Corsair TX650M
be quiet! Pure Power L8 630W
be quiet! Straight Power E9 CM 580W
Seasonic M12II Bronze 650W
SilverStone "Strider Plus" 600W

What do you guys think?

Will this be for your sig rig? If so, even 500W would be overkill, but if you happen to have Super Flower, Kingwin or Rosewill PSU's available you should take them in consideration. They have good value gold units at around the same price point. They aren't modular mostly, though.

I do not have those brands unfortunately. But modular is a must because my case does not have cable management so I need to have as few cables as possible. And yes it is for my sig rig but I plan to OC the CPU and I just like to have more than enough tongue.gif Plus the sub 600W psu's are not modular.

If that's the case then Seasonic looks decent enough to me. I don't know about the Corsair, but it might have the same guts as the Seasonic. The strider is kind of meh, but isn't bad at all for the money. It's up to you.

You have the Corsair TX550W M (http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Corsair-TX550M-Power-Supply-Review/1414) Pretty decent PSU or a SEASONIC BRONZE M12II-520 MODULAR both of them great PSU's under 600w. Your system in full load does not reach 300w so a 550w psu is plenty already

I don't have these psu's here unfortunately. The tx series starts at 750W but even I think that is overkill. And the M12 starts at 650W.

Thank you for your advice guys. Looks like I will go for the seasonic after all. Hope it lasts longer than my last 2 psu's tongue.gif

Look for a Seasonic G 450, should be cheaper than the M12II 650, but it is superior, it's modular and already plenty for your setup (at any clocks).
