Hmm, that does seem odd. Titan is supposed to be what, 85-90% of a 690? I don't see it beating an Ares 2.

Not distracting from the Titan of course - it also performs incredibly well i'm sure.

I could even see an OC'd Titan matching or just nipping an Ares II but no way would it wipe the floor with one. At least not on air or water...

They did say they blew VRMs, so one has to be led to believe they're using some pretty extreme cooling. A Titan with a ~40% overclock against an Ares II... who knows? Maybe it did beat it. I would think it's possible.

Not even guy.......the Ares is at least 10-15% faster than the GTX 690 which would make it like 30-40% better than the Titan if the rumors about the Titan compared to the 690 is true.

The rumor i was talking about was most say the Titan is around 80% the speed of the GTX 690. Now that means the Titan would have to overclock a good 40% to even touch the Ares II.

I've seen 40% overclocks.... poke.gif

Hell, I had a 570 I OC'd 30% on the stock cooler, wouldn't be hard to go another 10% with water or obviously LN2.

But yeah, would love to see Titan actually pull it off. Getting more excited by the minute.

Any word on voltage control for the Titan?

No but it looks like it! Unless people are doing some crazy volt-mods already. But yeah, it might just be possible. We'll have to keep ourr fingers crossed...

I have a feeling that the whole "limited availability" will turn out to be true....for the first month or so, and then it will be available to anyone with the money. I mean, look at how much press this card has gotten without Nvidia saying a single word, much less spending money on an advertising campaign!

So, just add to that artificial scarcity, and you can keep prices high for a long time. No way they'd be able to charge nearly a grand for a card that everyone had access to immediately....but after the first wave of cards, I would bet $50 that we'll see PLENTY of them. They'd be stupid NOT TO make a ton!

Not alot of people can afford to spend $1000 on a graphics card.
