How to get my 7850 past 1050mhz?

post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
I've unlocked MSI Afterburner via the "unofficial overclocking". Unfortunately I get screen flickering immediately after the unlock. I know there is a way to do this properly because I see people with 1100mhz+ overclocks on their 7850's.

Please advise smile.gif

I got that too. Turns out it was because I enabled the unofficial overclock. Uninstall/reinstall afterburner. It will OC all you need without enabling any "mode". I am running at 1115 core @ 1250mV.

I use ASUS GPU Tweak. It's way easier for me to unlock stuff there.

the best overclocking software for any HD7XXX this year is sapphire trixx , easy to use , work with every HD 7XXX , and allows u to pump the frequency of the gpu/memeory +1300gpu/+1900mem and also change the voltage of the memory (depend on witch brand u have ) and the gpu
and btw I've already oc 2 hd 7850 xfx-his both run at 1200gpu/1450memory 1225 mv rock stable on any game

make a shortcut for afterburner, click properties and then put /xcl after the exe like this;

then open the program, it will ask you to restart your pc to apply changes. restart, open afterburner then remove the /xcl, clock limits are now extended biggrin.gif

I have no problems with MSI AB on my 7970, but then my card is a MSI card. Are people having that much issue with it on 7000 series? I know unofficial mode is broken as all hell for me but normal OC I get a decent 1200/1600 clocks.
