At 1080p you'll still get decent performance, but once you go over that resolution it'll struggle.

I just hope Nvida doesnt pull another fast one with the pricing. They already showed us what they are willing to do with the pricing of the GXT Titan, if the price is anywhere close to Titan prices then not only do i think they will have shot themseles in the foot, i wont be getting a 780 lol.

Just spinning here but.

Currently the GTX Titan in the UK costs ~£820. If the 780 is anywhere within say about £125 of the GTX Titan (£700+) then whats the point in the getting a 780 when for just a fraction of the total cost more, u can get the best of the best.

I would hope and expect it to be priced more in the region of £450 to £550, otherwise it will end up being just to close to the GTX Titan. Not only that, there will be aftermarket versions available with custom boards. You have to leave headroom for the extra cost of those. So even then £550 is getting to high. Add £150 premium for a good EVGA or Asus model and ur looking at £700 then, any higher and its to close to the price of a Titan.

In the end they gotta look at the 600 series.

The 680 cost from £375 to £500 depending on the model (2gb and 4gb) (max of 133% increase from base model cost)
The 770 is going to be, performance wise, a 680. So they should be around £395 £525 depending on the model.(133%)
The Titan is £825

So the 780 has to be priced somehwere in the middle. At £550 base model to £715 top model. (130%) it stays away from the GTX Titan...just.

meh what ever ..we shall see lol.

EDIT:
http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/geforce-gtx-780-to-cost-425-510-is-based-on-nvidia-titan/0115514
if this is anythign to go by, then great biggrin.gif

However
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Nvidia-GeForce-GTX-780-Launches-May-23rd-55351.html
if the US cost is $1000 for Titan, and ~£800 in UK (20% dif in figures)
then it stands to reason the $760 in this article would mean a ~£600 price tag in the UK.

Ya know... i was always under the impression that a CPU bottlneck would be less noticeable at higher resolution as the GPU just will take more load with upping resolution, not to say there wouldnt be any but that it should not get worse by upping res.

Maybe im wrong though wink.gif

I think 3gb will be the standard soon so 2gb cards will be redundant. So new generations will be 3gb 6gb 8gb (maybe) a 5gb.
The EVGA GTX 670 FTW cards are already equivalent to GTX 680's pretty much. They consistently either sport the same framerate or lose out by 5 fps or so in all games. Not much point buying a 770 if you have one of those elite 670's. I personally am not going to give the 7 series any attention at all, I'm not interested in upgrading to a card that's still running on Kepler. I'll be keeping my dual 670's until the 8 series at the earliest, most likely the 9 series.

I was a fraction of a second away from buying the EVGA 780 hydro edition...then decided i didn't not need to spend that much on a card at this very second. I am still rocking two 1GB 460's and can play bf3 on ultra quality, just have to turn AA and a few other things off and i play at a good frame rate where it hardly ever goes below 50-60...But I am still getting a new card, but am going to wait for a 4 gb 770, i just hope EVGA does a hydro edition but i doubt it so i hope someone has a water block out by the time the 4gb 770's hit in a few weeks...but the 770 is just a bridge so i can finally go triple monitor...im saving my total upgrade for when the 800's come out in a year or more.
