1U server PSU and Graphics Card compatibility

Hello,

I'm planning a itx scratch build that a 1U power supply would would work best in given the design and size. The build will be i5 3570K and GTX 670, or future generation equivalent. I would need one 8 pin and one 6 pin max for a graphics card, it will probably be just two 6 pins though. Is there a 1U power supply that has these? All I could on newegg were this one and this one. These two seemed to match my power requirements otherwise. But they don't look to have the pins for graphics cards, or sata in the case of the second one. Could I safely use an adapter for the molex (or sata in the case of the first one) and power something that requires a 6/8 or 6/6 graphics card? I shouldn't need sata power as I plan to use a pcie-mini ssd for the OS. Other suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

What case are you using?

It's my intention to build my own case. I was hoping to use a 1U size psu to fit the design I am working over. Not lights, watercooling, or other things that would require extra molex connectors. There should only be two, maybe three fans (counting the cpu cooler's) and they will all be powered from the motherboard. These fans will either be GT 2150/1800 or Silverstone Air Penetrators. One further question: How loud are server psus? I know the fans in the 1U size are small and should thus make some noise, but I was hoping it wouldn't be too much over what the 2 or 3 fans + gpu cooler would produce. If it's a lot of noise, I'm willing to open the psu up and do some wiring in of resistors or manually connecting the psu fans to the mobo if that would be relatively safe.

1U PSUs are extremely noisy; they're designed for maximum reliability (and thus maximum cooling), not quietness.

Try designing your case to fit a TFX PSU instead:
