xeons running at different volts

Thread Starter
I have two identical xeon x5355 processors clocked at 2.92GHz, but one of them is running at 1.3 volts while the other is running at 1.3125 volts, even at stock speeds. I am quite confused by this. I bought the processors as a pair, they are exactly identical except for that one feat. Is there any rhyme or reason for this, my OCD is absolutely killing me thinking.gif

Intel tests their CPU's in factory and Assigns a VID according to how the chip performs.

Every CPU can have a different stock VID, so it knows how much Voltage it needs.
Some require more then others to run on stock speed.

Example: You buy 10 2500k's, each of can have different stock voltage, different stock tempratures, and different OC capabilities.
