questions about new modem

Hi guys I recently picked up a new modem to replace the BigPond one we've had for a while, I heard its a horrible modem. Firstly it was meant to just be for us connecting to the wireless internet, but I just realized it has the full capability to be a modem now I just tried it too see it it would work as the main modem and it didn't, basically we have 2 T-Boxes's that are very annoying for gaming because when anyone in my family watches online T.V it can lag when I play games, so I was just wondering would this modem work and connect the 2 T-Boxes just like the old BigPond one? and also be able to connect everyone to the internet?

^^ that is the new D-Link DIR 632 modem. (thats the one we all connect to the wireless, phones, other pc's, ipads etc..).

^^ There is the old modem that I want to replace, if you look at the back that's all the cables connecting too it.

Is it as easy as plugging the cables from the back of the old modem into the new one? or do I need to do something else?

I also heard Telstra send you this cheap ****ty modem when you go ahead and buy the T-Box, where paying around $160+ a month for all this, and our DL speed is 350kb/s and upload is around 80kb/s lol, is there anyway I can improve this? I know little to nothing about this type of networking, I would like a way to increase stability and speed, etc... sorry I am clueless in this area.

My second question is:

I also have a problem with connecting to my D-Link DIR 632 wireless modem: (just from 2 days ago).

^^ That's what it shows when I try and connect to the D-Link DIR 632 wireless modem (the one we use to connect and also in the first picture) ^^

you're looking at the wireless connecting with the caution icon, it just sits there, I did one thing in the modem and that was to try and port forward a Minecraft Server... but that didn't work and I reverted the changes back to the original and from then on.. from when I port forwarded that day it has just showed that caution icon and never connected to the internet. It's starting to annoy me a lot since thats what we all use in the house to get the faster internet connection, but it's now forcing us to use the wireless BigPond modem to connect to the internet, which is horrible (very laggy) and I cannot get the D-Link modem it to work.

Help me please frown.gif
