You're going to pay a heavy premium price ($900?) for what ends up being the same kinds of gains we typically see on a generational, year to year basis?

If this is the new norm, then I got the steal of the century going from 6970 to 7970. By that logic the 7970 should've cost about $1,500 at launch. (If you consider paying twice the price of a 680 for a 30% performance gain.) I got nearly 100% performance gain from the 7970.
To all the AMD owners, these benches may be bogus, but don't get your hopes up too high, Titan will still demolish a 7970..just a hunch biggrin.gif

Closer to 35% actually. And considering the resolution, aint half bad.

I couldn't care less, I hope it does demolish a 7970. For the rumored price, it damn well better.

I just think it sets a terrible precedent, that people are willing to shell out twice the money for a 30% gain a year after a GPU launch.

Would you be willing to pay twice the price for Haswell?

I'd like to think so the 7970 has been out for a year.

It's no grunt, it's multiplayer. He's also standing on a step that the observer isn't on iirc. It's on E2M1. heh I still consider Quake to be my favorite game of all time and periodically bust it back out. Lately, I've been playing the entire singleplayer campaign on a vintage SGI workstation.

Haha yes, you will get flamed for loose comments in any AMD or Nvidia threads.

Indeed but this is not that kind of jump from one generation to the next. This will probably be faster then a 780, so yeah.

And it looks like Boost Clock isn't even working. Should be looking at 10-15% better performance once NVidia gets their drivers sorted out.

My wallet is ready.

If someone was price insensitive they would. Nvidia would not set a price point which could not clear market. Unfortunately, that's the way world works, my friend.
