Your monitor setup is the most important aspect of the experience, I can't believe people are still peddling cheap 6 bit color TN panels with horrible color accuracy and worse viewing angles. Even with 120hz I would much rather use IPS/PLS panels at 2560 resolution or go for a triple monitor resolution. I can see color shifting even with dead on viewing with every TN panel i've used.

Using a cheap monitor with a halo GPU makes absolutely zero sense. Why anyone would spend 150$ on a monitor and 2000$ on a sli setup is laughable.

Heck, if you insist on TN at least get surround. You will hate life because of viewing angles, but it is still better than a single 1080p screen. I am just in disbelief at the number of people who think they're doing themselves a favor with a 1080p 21 inch monitor oh but hey! 1500$ worth of graphics power. Ugh.

It's a good thing that I paid the extra $5 for Saturday delivery of my new monitor or else I wouldn't be able to say how much better I am than everyone else in this thread. For the record I am a much better person than everyone with a smaller resolution than me.

Hmm, possibly - it's tough to say. I think most of the statistics are a bit skewed in favor of mobile devices which tend to use lower resolutions, but I do feel like 1080p is a very common resolution for desktops.

I'll go ahead and say it, i'm biased. I hate 1080p and I hate TN panels. redface.gif I can see how some favor it, but still - I am of the belief that the amount of money you spend on a GPU should at least equal the amount of money spent on displays. They both complement each other in awesomeness!thumb.gif

Nothing can change this aspect of TN panels, nothing.

Now perhaps you're referring to a 1080p IPS panel, i'm not sure. In any case, I still find it completely ridiculous to spend 1000$+ on a GPU and saddle it with a lowest common denominator resolution from 2007.

The monitor is about 75% of your experience IMO. How you visualize everything you do on your PC is completely dependent on the monitor setup, if that part of the equation is bad why bother with such expensive GPUs? Wouldn't high end monitor(s) make more sense? The first time I gamed at 2560x1600 I was in awe because it really is quite immersive (the size of 30 inchers are really immense, in a good way), I really have a tough time using 1080p these days.
I would keep my 120hz monitor even if it was in black in white. I am a gamer, not someone who NEEDS life like color. For one, IPS color is exaggerated, for two, TN panel color is also exaggerated. One is not as great as people praise it to be and the other is not as bad.. and viewing angles? I sit straight in front of my monitor, as I assume most of us do. Those doing surround however obviously have to pick carefully.

Oh, I'm not trying to be antagonistic at all, that wasn't my intention - I'm just confused by not making an experience complete by complementing an awesome GPU with an awesome surround setup or monitor.

Oh well. I'll leave it alone now. I'm really anxious for Titan especially since it apparently has some form of voltage control.

Comon, that is no challenge. My titan will power a ~300$ Monitor plus an old one that is creating a strange buzzing sound when turned off.
That is a challenge.

I bet you guys never tried playing in a professional calibrated monitor.. You will throw the thing out of the window to begin with...

Me? I love vibrant colors... Which are not close to the real thing to begin with..

Now i understand why AMD has no cards out this year. Simply because they don't need to.
