I mean a water cooled dual 690 rig would be pretty beast and I have no intention of multi-monitor so the VRAM would be fine.

Two of these would look pretty beastly in my TJ11!]
Stock Titans to stock dual 690s, I can see the Titans edging out due to superior scaling. Now, you want to throw in some waterblocks and Titan's overvolting? I doubt 4 overclocked Lightning 680s could touch two overvolted Titan's, due in part to the memory bandwidth and SLI SCALING. Titan, when in a single GPU setup on air won't be impressive or even worth the money. But throw two of them with blocks in your system and I doubt anything could catch up.

That is, if you decide to go with EK for your waterblocks biggrin.gif

http://thinkcell.ekwb.com/idea/new-full-cover-block-design---choose-your-best

Since all you actually see is the back plate of a GPU underwater it is all a giant waste of time. The new R7990 block is tough looking without the circles, I'll give them that. Very industrial looking but what's the point when it doesn't match the rest of your EK components. The aesthetics of watercooling parts is and always has been a big deal and I just see EK shooting themselves in the foot here..

I had seen the chart earlier but so many pages in so many threads and it's easy to glaze over it. That explains it well.

Awesome.

Yeah it seems that way. You set the temperature target you are after and the card will boost itself as high as possible within that temperature. How high you can boost the card will then depend on how high the temperature target is I guess.

It's a much better system than what the GTX 680/690 uses.

Wonder how different it will be with the supposed watercooling mode enabled.

Whoever considering the titan (because I do) should consider the eventuality of driver support. How will the nivdia support for limited gpu be? I am not an expert, it might be possible the drivers will be the same but I doubt since I believe this is another architecture.
Will early adopter pay the price of testing this new generation (which is not really new)? I prefer holding a bit personally as I don't game lately but this this and end of the year I might need another card (still on my 5870 btw).
The titan might sold cheaper if they begin mass production (I doubt), AMD reaction could also result in price reduction on their products and I expect Nvidia will also reduce their price in this situation.

I don't see any interest of buying this card now unless you want to max crysis 3 (I won't even play that game). I might change my idea but I won't invest into a crysis game until I hear good comment on it (aka multiplayer).

It'll be much better I'm sure. Can't wait to chill my room and throw the fan speed up to 100% for some benching. That voltage will be climbing if I have anything to say about it!

What's this 'Water-Cooling Mode' of which you speak?

I have no interest in multi-monitor. The fisheye effect is terrible IMO...

Didn't say you did want it, was merely answering his question on why many people don't use 2x 690s more often.

The 690 would leave a sour taste in my mouth though, and a it of buyers remorse...I like to oc things and bench, I would never get a locked card again.

a 690 still leaves much to be desired as far as VRAM goes for a 1440p monitor.

I think you're fine with dual 7970's at 1200mhz+ wink.gif

I dont think he means that.. Well maybe in every bench when he sees one or the other loosing on benches he starts with that.. I wonder what hes thinking right now that amd is back in the valley benchmark...

lol@majin you have serious issues my friend seriously you should stop.. Thats no good for you my friend.

I've thought about adding a second myself. Want to see what Titan brings first. Other the a modded Skyrim 2GB is plenty for single 1440p play. Nvidia's drivers continue to make things better for quad=sli as well.
