Such a tease. Not that overall score really means anything though. Good to see Titan though smile.gif But I can hit P13,000 with one Lightning. I hope they're using a stock 2500k for that run sadsmiley.gif

Downsampling, also called OGSSAA : Ordered Grid SuperSampling AntiAliasing, is in this case the concept of rendering the game at a much higher, custom made, resolution than your monitor is capable of displaying and subsequently having the GPU rescale the image ( as in downsample ) to that of your monitor's native resolution to which the end result is a "cleaner", sharper and less aliased image.

(Avg.)Titan: 100%, 7970: ~74%, 680: ~70%.....interesting. Kepler is roughly 30% slower.

I understand the 6gb is overkill for 1080p. But the performance on all single GPU's is not enough for 120hz in many games. And more games are coming out where this is the case such as FC3 and Crysis 3. I can't get 120fps with less than 3x 7970's. And two 7970's gives me 90-100 FPS in these games. So I don't see why people really care if someone buys a GPU like this for 120hz 1080p. People like myself and OCN in general what things to be as fast as possible. I can see the difference between 90 and 120 fps even though some can't and some don't believe I can.
From time to time I run some games with frame limiter around 90fps and when I switch games and forget to change frame limit I notice with in 15 seconds the frame limit was left on.

That's a horrible score for a supposedly $900 card. It should be $649 max, seeing as how a 680 lightning is ~$550.

If you weren't talking about launch & stock settings then what is the point of the comparison... You're essentially comparing a card that has had a year of driver updates to one that no one has tested at stock settings or over-clocked, and then forming some baseless opinion. You're assuming Titan 1) can't be over clocked and 2) won't received the same future driver updates to improve performance.

You forget that HD 7000 series was based on a brand new GCN architecture and the performance updates over the last 1 year have put the HD 7970 / HD 7970 Ghz cards significantly faster than at launch. Its well known that in newer DX11 titles the HD 7970 Ghz is consistently 75 - 80% faster than HD 6970 at stock speeds. BF3 is a special case where performance is 100% or more faster. with overclocking that gap widens as the HD 6970 does not have similar OC headroom and scaling.

Hitman Absolution

as for the GK110 Titan its based on the Kepler architecture which powers the GTX 680. Kepler has had close to a year of driver performance improvements. So the statement that Titan has unoptimized drivers don't hold much logic. Drivers are written for an architecture and all products based on the architecture benefit. Also AMD is not done extracting more performance from GCN.

Titan is definitely significantly faster than HD 7970 Ghz / GTX 680. But the lack of competition from AMD has allowed Nvidia to price it the way they want to. simple.

Makes you wonder since you can easily sli/xfire the "last gen" and beat a Titan and it may cost you the same. Gonna stick
with Kepler 104. For now, I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the performance reviews.

edit: I'm glad they made away with the stacked power connectors. Its really a pita, especially if you have the stock cooler installed frown.gif

Might want to do that math again. 100-70=30. 30/70=43. It's 43% faster, based on those questionable numbers.
