So I just ran 3dMark11 on extreme and my core and memory only dropped down between tests. I had a score of x3504. Dont know if thats good or not.

Nice assumption smile.gif But wrong. I am new to this site, but have been overclocking/tweaking etc.... For about 20 years.

I am still thinking that it is more of a crossfire issue. And that is the main reason I brought it up, as if you do, This might be something to check out. Logically it makes sense, if the Boost Card is a slave card. As the 2nd card isn't always under 100% load (depending on the game/benchmark etc). So I can only guess that is why it would down-clock to 880 and then up to 960 VERY rapidly. It just didn't look right, so I decided to flash a non boost MSI bios on it and see what results I got, and it was a pretty large increase in FPS and benchmark scoring (like I linked in my first post).

If I wanted to diagnose it further I could, by swapping the boost and my primary, but eh. My primary card which is non boost, has a ASIC of 92.2% and my setup is color calibrated/profiled and I don't feel like doing it again lol.

In regards to the bios flashing, I am not 100% sure if it would void your warranty. But I wouldn't think so, even more so if you are using a MSI Bios. And you would think there is a reason they have a dual bios, that is switchable smile.gif

Yea I have been wondering about the dual bois thing. Would it be possible to get better performance in one BIOS than the other since there are 2 on the card?

Thanks for that. Was wondering what happened!

Thought I was going red team, but sorry, just bought an ASUS 670.

How did you get it for $211 from microcenter? I just checked their store price at $310.

For curiosity sake, download the new 3DMark and run through fire strike /w GPUz going in the background, and see if your GPU clock is rapidly changing between 880 and your OC. If it is, you may want to try a older bios and see if your scores go up. But again, I am 90% sure it is a crossfire issue /w the slave card being the boost card.

So could you post the non boost bios? Because I'm pretty sure I'm going to crossfire my 7950. I want to squeeze a little more out of some of my games without just straight up replacing the card.

Can I crossfire my MSI Twin Frozr III with a gigabyte 7950?
