P5B-E Plus worth it ?

Thread Starter
hi,

i need some "expert" advice plz...

im gonna build a rig around a E6600 processor and i intend to oc it to 3 or 3.2Ghz , the rig will be "aircooled".

now i dont wanna spend too much cash on a elite mobo & cpu cause i indend on upgrading my system sometime around xmas 2007 with all the the good stuff out at that period (eg: intel native quadcore and a fancy mobo) .

so atm im orienting myself towards the 965p chipset.and more precisely towards the asus P5B-E plus .

now my question is : will this mobo allow me to oc the cpu up to 3/3.2ghz ? and maybe there are better solutions for a simmilar price?

thx

ps: max budget is 190usd

If 190 is your budget, stop worrying if your p5b-e can do it and just get a p5b-d for 182.

3 - 3.2GHz? That's nothing for either the P5B-E or the P5B Deluxe... should be cake. On air, I see an easy 3.4GHz, maybe 3.5GHz, but that might get a little too hot.

Get the Deluxe though.

hum , interesting.... cause ive been lookin at the feature list of both boards and i noticed that the deluxe version mainly offers crossfire , which i wont be using.

i guess i can save about 20/30usd with the P5B-E Plus.

and since i wont be doing exterme overclocking the extra thermal features of the deluxe maybe of lil use to me ?
