Yeah but I prefer this layout and shape.
Jim, I think you've hit on something big, here. It seems to me that this motherboard layout would be superior to Silverstone's 90 degree layout in terms of passive, air, and water cooling because there is literally nothing to stop radiant heat from doing its upward motion thing. Also, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be superior in terms of internal space efficiency to any other board layout. I wonder what a Merlin would be like with this board layout; the only downside I could see is that leaks from a water cooling setup would guarantee a system kill.

I'm a big fan of horizontal mobos because for a strange reason... I am a CAD Engineer, and one of my specialties is stress tolerances (specifically torsion & tension in metals), and I don't like graphics cards hanging down in traditional layouts.
YES, I know they're not going to break, just hanging there from a vertical mobo. Yes, I know that sounds like such a pithy reason, but I've seen them sag, and I cringe at every pic I see like that! That's why I swapped from a good aluminum case to a terrible acrylic case, because the aftermarket Arctic Cooling VGA cooler I mounted to my current GPU was making it hang. SINGLE reason for an entire case swap, to a LESSER unit. Sad? Maybe. Stupid? Opinions vary!

I can't wait for this case though! biggrin.gif

P.S. The space efficiency is going to be BOSS in here too... you're absolutely right!

Thanks - thumb.gif

Do we have a description of radiator mounting options/layout for this case? I was looking but couldn't find it.

The thought has crossed my mind wink.gif One more reason why I need a series name tongue.gif Because of the longer board length, I'll probably have to add an inch or so to the length - not so much for drive cages, I'm going to give up on that, but to make sure there is enough room for "normal" bay devices.

There's another piece to the puzzle biggrin.gif

Well the 240 has to be in the front. You could fit a 280 in the base if you relocated the PSU (but where?). So then a side mounted 280 in the door?

Ah I thought you'd push long enough for 360 support.
