I'd like to upgrade some components on my computer but not quite sure where to started as the titles says. I'm getting low fps and slow load in speeds. I also lag hard when rendering in an open world games. Even after boosting the power to my graphics card i still tend to lag quite a bit.

Nvidia gtx 470 1gb

amd phenom II x6 1055t 2.80 ghz

4gb dddr3

gygbyte 870A-UD3 mother board

This. My previous PC was similar to yours. I did not have any problems running games maxed, or near maxed with that setup. What games are lagging and what resolution are you playing at?

Also, please fill out your system specs in the rig builder

Ok, something isn't right here. The 470 should be able to run most games at mid-high settings with out much of a problem at all. You may want to try updating your drivers. As for the loading times. You should try getting a SSD. They are way faster than a hard drive and will fix your loading time issues.

And please stop double/triple posting. It's against the rules and you need to give people time to respond.

Well, I would suggest a SSD ( Newegg ) Cheap and reliable.

I've got a couple of possibilities in my mind.

1) I'd like to think your computer is just throttling due to heat, or maybe even a lack of power
2) I'm sitting here wondering if 1gb vram might be too low for 1920x1080
3) 4GB ram might be the culprit, though only you could check that
3) Lastly I'm thinking that your 6 core Phenom 2 isn't really satisfactory anymore although I find that a little hard to believe.

If those aren't it then sorry I'm couldn't help.
