AMD 13.2 Beta 6 - Page 8

Correct me if I'm wrong but the review you posted shows the 7970 GE as faster (by less than a frame) at the highest settings.

oh and Multiplayer Alpha is not really comparable to the actual Single Player.

It's definitely not worse than the competition.

I disagree, the 7970 is slower that the GTX 680 and the 7970 GE more reasonable described as on parr with the 680, while the 7950 (not in it) looks like its on parr with GTX 660TI and the 7870 slower than the GTX 660?!?!?!

Its what you would expect from an Nvidia optimised game, not one apparently worked hard on by AMD.

If true its going to turn into a running joke.

Alright so I downloaded these beta drivers, and did the whole uninstall/driver sweep/reboot/driver sweep/reboot/install new drivers, and when I went to install these drivers I kept BSOD'ing during installation every single time, and when I would go to log on to uninstall them to retry, I'd BSOD again. So I spent about 2 hours going in and out of safe mode to try to get them working. Ended up going back to latest beta version before this, and it works fine. First time I've ever had issues with a beta driver, however, and it was very annoying.

Try to install 13.1 WHQL drivers. Then uninstall, reboot, instal Beta6. Dont use driver sweeper or similar stuff this time.

Looks like they spent more time on their cpu than gpu

The normal 7970 is slower than a but it's cheaper. By quite a lot. Now that you pretty much find 7970s everywhere cheaper than the (In my town 800+$ for the 680 and 580+$ for the 7970)
The 7870 on the other hand is cheaper about 100$. Insane performance i'll say! For the price of a 7870 you can only buy a normal 660

Dislike to running into "who is better" discussion but you, Abundant Cores are 3rd idiot I met in similar driver discussion today.

Standard 7970 on stock frequency - 3788.8 gflops 4300 Milion transistors, 368 Euro
7970 GHz edition - 4300 gflops - 4300 Milion transistors, 411 Euro

GTX 680 - 3090.4 gflops - 3540 Milion Transistors, 439 Euro
Titan should have 4500gflops but with 7100 milion Transistors for 1000 dollars.

No, single chip Nvidia is not better than single chip AMD. I agree that FPS-wise Nvidia has bit better FPS/Gigaflop ratio, but who buys Titan is idiot...

Such charts based on FPS are really far from being accurate.

Guys I want to discuss drivers in this topic. Thanks.

Funny how Kepler is gaming-oriented yet gets owned by GCN which is a compute-oriented architecture wink.gif
This is the hard facts and i know Nvidia fanboys are gonna start calling me a fanboy but sorry the first GPUs i've had were Nvidias and i'm not buying them anymore after getting bitten by nasty drivers (Remember 196.75? That killed 3 of my family's laptops and my GTX460 without me knowing because the fan started to slow down and eventually just died for my laptops as for my GTX460 it just overheated consistently and eventually gave up the ghost) I've never had a AMD GPU (well only twice or thrice, but the number of nvidia GPUs i had in the past is numerous, what i had before for AMD was a Radeon Xpress X1250 in a laptop and a HD5450 in my HTPC as well as a A6-3400M laptop for my mom. I've never had any serious AMD GPUs yet)
