starting my first mod and water cooling project at the same time. will probably have questions throughout.

Hey, so as the name suggests I will be starting my first project build ever. I was curious if some of you who are not so new to modding wouldnt mind throwing out some common mistakes or problems that people encounter on their first times? I just want to try to avoid as many issues as possible as my project is probably going to cost me around 700 for the materials and that might not even be including a 72"x27.5" tempered glass sheet with beveled edges. So if I can avoid making common mistakes and learn from the mistakes of others it would be awesome. Basically its going to be a aluminum framed desk with a tempered glass top a stack of drawers underneath and having common access points where cables and tubing can be routed for easy stowage and hidden away for asthetics. I know im not giving away much specific info about it I just want the build to be kind of unseen until I finish it and then I will post it. Im just concerned with common water cooling or space complications.

Does anyone know where I can finding spacing of screws for 120, 140, 230, 250mm fans and such and possible even hdd or motherboards? Ive been searching but im having trouble finding anything...

I think ive seen the first two of those links before. Im trying to find the dimensions as I want to actually be able to make a perfect 3d model with exact dimensions to go off of... and I was to make a motherboard plate with with all form factors on it. Never know what I might want in the future. Ill keep looking, thanks for the links though.
