Problems with RAID on P5B Dlx - Page 2

When it accesses the floppy, does it make you select the drivers to install? I always have to go through that step. It loads the driver, comes back to the available drivers on the floppy and I have to manually quit that to get back to the Windows setup. Could it be your floppy just didn't create itself properly?

I doesn't pop up anything. It just tries to read the floppy then goes back to the same screen. I think the floppy is made correctly because I tried remaking it a bunch of times and no dice. I made it using the included asus cd and the make "ICH8R Driver" option.

Dumb question, but are you hitting F6 like a madman? Pound the crap outta it until it starts to load windows drivers...that's what I do, lol.

It could be two things:
1-The floppy drive is perhaps broken or connected improperly or
2-The disk is not good.

I've had this happened to me before.

Also, go to Intel and download the latest drivers for F6 disk and Matrix Raid because they'll also update the ROM in the ICH8-R.

Here's the link: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21

Also, if you don't have the latest BIOS, you should update them too because anything below 0711 have some addes feature in the SATA set-up for the BIOS that it's sort of confusing and that could throw you off. With the 0711 that option is gone.

Set the "cluster" size to 64KB, don't use the default's 128KB.

Other thing you could do is set your SATA drives as RAID........then install the
RAID/AHCI Software - Intel® Matrix Storage Manager (#3 download) and let your single drive to the RAID for you.

See, you can set up a RAID within Windows with that software as well:

Once you're done, you'll have to set up your RAID in the BIOS as the first bootable HDD and then install Windows.
