It is like comparing a Bugatti Veyron to a Corvette .
If you can afford the Bugatti more power to you - for the rest of us there is the Chevvy .
No way can I afford the Titan , so I will just get a mainstream card .
Would I like a Titan ? - Yes
Would I buy one for a grand ? - No
One of my machines has a Radeon 6950 that I am looking to upgrade - and most likely it will be a newer Radeon . If what one of the other posters says , is correct , and some people buy the Titan and sell off their current high end mainstream cards , I may buy a used card in preference to the new one ( at a sufficient price saving ). In which case Titan will be very good for me .

I wonder if we will ever get a CrossfireX 2.0 or something. Crossfire hasn't really changed much. Would like them to innovate on the Crossfire itself XD but may just be a hope and dream that will not come true.
