7970 changing bios.

Thread Starter
So for the past month been testing stability on my MSI 7970 and well, I reached the max clocks I can get on it on afterburner. 1125/1575 with only 1200 core voltage on afterburner. So was wondering if I flash my bios to a different card would it allow me to get higher clocks?

Been reading http://www.overclock.net/t/1353325/tutorial-atiwinflash-how-to-flash-the-bios-of-your-ati-cards seems quite simple to flash but dont know if its worth it.

Also if anyone knows any good bios be nice : D. (looking around atm lol)

Wait.. so when you say you reached your max clocks in MSI Afterburner, will it let you go past 1125 is that the "max" it will let you go?

If so there's a dll that you can place in your AFB to unlock the max clocks you can enter in, or just use Sapphire TriXX. Flashing a new bios won't really help you gain a better OC to my knowledge. You have better chance of soft bricking your card than you do of gaining a better OC.

hmmm, after I did that im getting some serious screen tearing/jittering/spazzing out lol. Have to return to stock for it to stop, and if I add even one hz in anything it happens again lol.

Going to have to fiddle with that now wheee.gif Tried unistalling/rebooting/reinstalling nothing really works lol.
