I am running two overclocked 7950s on a 750W unit. Two stock 7950s require more power than a single Titan. 850 watts is plenty thumb.gif

Didn't realize you were inquiring on 2 Titans tongue.gif

In that case, yes, 850 watts may be cutting it a little too close. I'd recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151110

Most of those switching to Titan have at least sli 680/7970 and many more with tri or quad setups. There will be a lot more then you think.

Make that 2 Asus 690s

Why sell a 690 for a Titan, is it only for people who sell one 690, and want to buy two Titans? It seems like the reviews so far, and comments here, say that if you will only have one card then the 690 is the way to go. Although tomorrow we may find that an oced Titan might be a reasonable choice vs. a 690 in a single card setup.

From what I hear from the video concerning who makes the most noise its:

Again, there is not a single 7970 Ghz Ed. and very few standard 7970's available today that use the stock AMD cooler. Almost all cards use aftermarket solutions that cool better and more quietly.

The comparison is irrelevant.

I dont see a Ghz card listed in the comparison...just a 7970. I owned a reference 7970, a GB WF 7970 and for a day a GB 7970Ghz....all were significantly louder than my 680.

I thought slit titans on 850 watts sounded a little close which is why I asked again.

I want the extra vram. At 1440p 120hz I've seen what looks like vram bottlenecks on a few titles. Not to mention the increased memory interface is useful too, at higher resolutions that extra bandwidth will give you a performance bump. Also it seems the Titan will probably be able to OC past a 690, that's why I plan to get a Titan. And then down the line if I want I could get a second for SLI, which is much better scaling than a second 690.

right now nothing. I just ordered half of the parts and am waiting on the titan to order the other half. I was waiting because of the supposed 10,000 limited units rumour last week. If I couldn't get two titans I was going to do an sli 680 build. For the main components of the build it will be a 3770k (which I plan on overclocking), NZXT switch 810, Asus maximus formula V, and a noctua d14 air cooler. I was also looking at the OCZ fatility 1000W modular power supply to play it safe. Everything in the build is red except for the gtx titan of course, but I can live with that.

Sounds a lot like mine, MVF, Switch 810, just got my Trident X 2400 ram that is red, 3770k at 5.0, and I threw in an AX1200 psu because I don’t know how much I will be adding in the future, oced parts take up way more power, and the psu will degrade, so it is easier to be safe. I would also tell you to definitely look at the about to be released Swiftech H220 for your cooler.
