[Various] GTX TITAN Previews - Page 144

Does the NDA expire at midnight or does it expire at 9AM? Has any preview stated an actual time?

Where did you see the press release? I don't think I've seen that date officially.

Many previews state they will release the week of the 25th. Probably the 26th or 28th going by NVIDIA's usual release days.

So, it's ok for you to pick on sujeto, but you get sensitive when you get picked on rolleyes.gif
post #1434 of 1636
Wow if they really limited these to 3 way SLI, but allow a 670 to go quad @ under $400, I'm going to be very disappointed. They're dual slot cards and the TDP isn't through the roof, so a Quad SLI watercooled setup would be completely possible. If I can only SLI 3 of them, I'll definitely be modding them with AIO coolers or a set of universals.

Hopefully it's something that can be unlocked later. They have the right # of fingers to make use of Quad SLI, and in Linus' video, he was told Quad by Nvidia, so I'll keep my fingers crossed...

I'll only be able to get 2 on day 1, and by the time my P.O.S limit resets on my card, they might all be gone. You KNOW there will be people price gouging on amazon and ebay though, so those willing to pay top dollar, will get what they need. Kind of like when the 680 was in short supply and I wasted an extra $100 on 2 of them just to complete my setup rolleyes.gif

Gotta do what you gotta do though, and when you spend most of your $$ on your gaming hardware and not other hobbies, $4,000 really isnt all THAT much in the grand scheme of things. You can build a wicked Tri-Titan X79 rig for less than the cost of a new ATV or something of that nature..

I also noticed Anand's preview mentions widespread availability on the 25th, with possible availability earlier.

The Offical GTX 670/680 page says Nvidia only support 3 Way 680 SLIso I don't see how that's different. The only Quad SLi Nvidia support right now is SLIing Dual GPU card like 590/690.

^ word. ever since i stopped going out to restaurants and clubs, ive been able to save a lot of money. im just upset that the price is now thousand if the rumor is true. i have 2 680s 4gb in sli, but id still prefer to run single card and not share lanes. i can afford to get one whenever its released, but a thousand bucks is still hard for me to swallow on a single gpu.

Yeah, that didn't stop people from building Quad 580/ 680 Rigs, so m3t4lh34d you can calm down. Nvidia support 4 Chips in SLI, they just don't officially support 4 card SLI

I really don't get why someone would go 4 way SLI on these for just a gaming computer for 24/7 use. That 4th card would give a very tiny amount of performance for $1000 and 3 of these would likely max everything even on 3x 1600p monitors. You have a single 1440p monitor, and 4x GTX 680s is by far overkill for that. You'd be better dropping that korean monitor, getting a quality IPS 1600p panel (Or 3x 1440ps) for $1000-$1500 and 3 Titans (Still insane overkill). The only way I could justify 4 cards is if your trying to push for a world record with nearly unlimited income.

IMO, I see no reason to upgrade your current computer.. and i'm always the one saying "overkill or nothing, don't tell people how to spend their money, etc", but your current computer is extreme overkill, and now you want 4x Titans for a single 1440p? Unless you are running 3x 1440p monitors and just didn't add all 3 to your config?
