Edit: I think that we are talking past each other. I am not saying that these reviews sites have OCD their cards for running benchmarks, which they don't typically, what I am saying is that Top 30 scores have.

You can't compare core/memory clock speed on a GTX 680/690 to a GTX Titan....

A GTX 680 is clocked much higher than a GTX Titan, and the Titan still beats it by ~44%. An extreme example, is comparing a 3.6GHz Pentium 4 to a 3.6GHz Ivy Bridge... you just can't do it. The Ivy bridge would run circles around it.

700 series is the mainstream chip which will not beat titan. A 780 will probably have about a $499 MSRP, and have performance inbetween the 680 and Titan.
