"GPU boost 2.0 doesn`t rely on the actual power the GPU is drawing, it relies on the temperature that the GPU is running at. Watercoolers for example would always run the 680s at very low temperature, but you would reach that power draw limit. So what happend is that the card would stop boosting up, it would stop overclocking itself any further.

Titan will not have that issue. If you keep the temperatures low, Titan will overclock itself very significally. So the baseclock of this guy is 836MHz, with a typical boost clock of 876MHz. However I`ve been told that a watercooled Titan without any further tweaking, without any manual overclocking, would be expected to run anywhere around 950MHz to 1GHz having done nothing because it will dynamically see that the card is not reaching temperatures thats gonna bother it and it will continue to add more voltage and more clock speed to the card til you reach that limit (temperature limit which you choose)"

I've seen all of Linus's videos, yes.

I get that it relies on temperature, in a way. But...to what extent? Like for instance, does it stay at the max voltage as long as it's below Temp Target? I'm just wondering how in the one video posted not long ago, the guy had a 1.187v limit. Now he was on air, so what would be the point of reviewers saying watercooling will set this thing free, if it's already possible to keep it at 80C with the max voltage? It better be higher than 1.187v.

That's only 38mv above stock. Is Nvidia really claiming "Overvoltage" on their website, and making everyone agree to the EULA in the drivers, for 38mv? Say it ain't so...

I'm not seeing Titan on that chart. What does it score in Vantage?

Nice. smile.gif
Pretty cool if true

I'm just hoping that the 780 will come with crippled compute, 3GB RAM, 384-bit bus, cheaper build quality and performs almost as well as a Titan for $500. What are the chances of that happening? None? biggrin.gif

Very slim chances. smile.gif
You could opt for the GTX 790 with 2xGK114 though. That will beat the Titan. Gonna cost you

I want the GTX 780 as well but why do you want it to have crippled compute.?
Can I just ask people in al seriousness, is this GTX titan only good for people gaming over 1080p?

Its just so so expensive, I mean it literally costs the same as a car and I can see people buying this then another nvidia gpu lineup comes out in 6 month claiming to be twice as good. I have a 23" 1080p 120hz monitor, im never gonna go more than one monitor and likely wont go any bigger than 23", but I would still like to play the latest games like crysis 3, bf4 on my pc at best fps feasible, will my gtx 570 cut it?

I actually hardly see them feeding more than current 1536 CUDA cores with 256-bit GDDR5.
Same goes for framebuffer limit.
So they may very well go for 3GB / 384-bit card.
The question is: when is it coming out? The answer may very well be Q3, since AMD is not showing up for a fight until Q4.

Would be overkill for 2D 1080p 60Hz.

The FP64 will obviously be few since Nvidia rather concentrate all of them on gaming performance like GTX 680.
Price? I think it will play out just like GTX 580 when it came: $550ish.
Performance? I have no idea but I`m guessing roughly 1920/1536 = 25% better than GTX 680

Oh they also say GTX 780 will be announced in March.

no.

Wouldn't they have to redo the architecture to implement a 384 bit bus?

It's the very first column.

Over or at 50,000 apparently.
