equals no such thing as micro-stuttering or very minimal, I'm speaking for SLi set-ups, not sure about 3 and 4-way..

so upgrade hardware and see for yourself.

I would have to disagree. Edit to agree: 2 way seems SMOOTH to me as well smile.gifthumb.gif

3930k at 5ghz and clean install 2 680's is pretty much the same as 1 for smoothness.

add a 3rd and it is not so smooth even with more fps

add a 4th and well we have even more fps but it feels worse than 2cards

this is VERY apparent in BF3 and MOH multi and the Crysis 3 beta ... maybe in some games not so much oh and Heaven 3.0 benchmark gets VERY VERY choppy.

biggrin.gif

I also wish scaling did not include stutter, if I could I would keep telling my self it did not exist either lol

COME ON TITANS!!!! I am looking at 2 of you hahaha!

AMD will strike back with something, you'll see. Nvidia won't always be able to get away with these prices as history has shown us before...

Nope, Micro Stutter is present irrespective of your setup. There are ways to minimize it but it cannot be completely eliminated. I've run systems with the cpu at 4.8ghz with dual 680's and still encountered micro stutter. Same thing with dual 7970's.

I've pretty much run every iteration of nvidia cards in SLI or Tri-SLI and it has always been there. Same goes for team red.

Single core is always going to be smoother (if a bit slower).

3 and 4-way SLi set-ups I can see but standard SLi, I have yet to experience micro-stuttering.
my opinion..

maybe when I move up to the GTX 7 series or so but then I'm expecting to go Haswell next year or whenever.
I feel a 2500K @ 4.5GHz which is pushing SLi N560GTX-Ti 448's (MSi PE's) can push a stronger set of cards.
SLi GTX 780's I hope one day, that's when Haswell might come into play.

hell I can always turn up the overclock higher.
same for my 3570K @ 4.4GHz, what can't it push.?

Try running screen caps with single card vs. dual with vsync on to lock the frame rates. It is very evident even at identical FPS.

You are entitled to your opinion but there is plenty of research to back it up (plenty from members here too). I've run at least 15 different sets of multiple cards over the years and have yet to see a complete absence of it.

No need to encourage Nvidia to raise prices.

Ive been waiting for titan. No reason to buy a 7970 and I love my 1300 core hawks

I've never noticed microstutter in any SLI/CF setup I've ever had. Guess I'm just lucky...
I believe the price is set because they cant release something that would throw off their entire line rolleyes.gif

Why would anyone buy a 680 for 400 if they could get a Titan for only 100 more? I don't think so!

Also they are going to milk it until AMD can step it up. Remind you of some one?
*cough* Intel *cough*

I wish AMD does something, but I don't think they will have anything to counter Titan for a long time.

I'm running TMR (triple monitor resolution) or Surround with my SLi unit.
if there is micro-stuttering then thank the lawd I do not see it or notice.
but as stated, I'm speaking for me.
