Their only answer is to put out an Official 7990. Not just a Powercolor branded one.

If AMD had anything to compete with Titan, it wouldn't be $1000 either.

Why does AMD screw us when its part of 2 separate duopolies? mad.gif

Thanks to AMD Intel has $1000 CPU's with no competition, and now NVIDIA has a $1000 single GPU with no competition....

Dear AMD fans, don't take the above personally. When AMD last held the CPU performance crown, they too had $1000 CPU's, remember FX-57?

Sure, they haven't had $1000 CPU's for the last 8 years, they also haven't held the CPU performance crown either. wink.gif

If AMD had a faster card then titan it would be more expensive trust me. Its all business. Nobody here seem to want $500 Titan. They prefer the higher price. Logically speaking removing all the effort spend into making that good looking cooler, based on performance speculation so far it should have been ~ $700s price. $1000 makes as much sense as HD 7970 @ $550-600 which now sells for under $400.

I'm pretty angry right now, and here's why: MANY OF YOU have said you will be purchasing a Titan... or 3.

Why am I angry about this? Let me explain.

By saying that you're going to be purchasing a Titan, you have now told Nvidia that it is ok to sell their fastest single-GPU card at a price point of $1000. The last generation GF110, the GTX 580, sold for $500, and the die size was only a little bit smaller than GK110.

On top of this, the GTX 690, which is dual GK104's, is selling for $1000. Also, the GTX 690 is FASTER than the Titan. Do you understand what sort of poor value is represented by Titan? It takes poor value in the GPU market to a whole new level. At least the GTX 690 was almost twice as fast as a GTX 680. That means the value of the GTX 690 was pretty good. Not so with the Titan, though. You're getting WORSE performance at the same price as a GTX 690.

So thank you OCN for telling nvidia that it's ok to create a $1000 stock graphics card for the consumer market. We will be reaping the benefits of this decision for years to come. mad.gif

All companies do market research and I guarantee Nvidia scoured the internet looking to see how much they can gouge us.

I don't blame OCN, I blame everyone.

Some like to fold or use compute. Don't assume that you alone can tell all of us what hardware we are allowed to use and how we are allowed to use it.

I'm not telling anyone what to do, I'm simply replying to a statement.

Which was why do people have negative opinions on single GTX Titan use for 1080P. Which is exactly what I said. All of which is hardly opinion or false. If you turn graphics down (AA mostly) and use a GTX Titan your gaming experience will be spectacular. GPU boost, the fan control/temp target, monitor overclocking etc will all be a great experience for you and as long as you don't mind spending $999 on a GPU that won't perform as well as other set-ups you could have bought then you'll love the card and rightfully so. But that's exactly it. Why on earth would you do that when for the same money you could have the exact same great experience just with better performance?

That logic just doesn't work inside my head.

Agreed, there should be more people criticizing Nvidia for selling this card at $1k.
