Then we have the other group saying that these points doesn`t matter to them, plastic fantastic is great, performance is everything and it better come out cheap or else they won`t buy it. They live by their golden rule price/performance.

And around and around we go. Stuck with our own opinions, doing as best we can to try to argue why this or that is better. And we do not realize that its just the way it is: People are different.

I'm personally just bored and passing time, dunno about everyone else. Whatever I can do to make Thursday come faster. thumb.gif

What makes you think that having 2 Titans would suddenly catapult your status to the pinnacle of people's envy, thus justifying your reason for buying 2 Titans, and the basis for this whole argument?
Why not get 4, and at least have a rig that costs more than $12 k including monitors, and may be, may be , then, I might think of it as called "status symbol". Until then, it's merely pedestrian...pffft

PC Perspective states it is slower than a 690 at this point in their video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=zkjBNnKr6z4#t=684s

I have a hard time believing it doesn't trade blows with the 690 or is within 10% of it, considering they are the same price. There's some other leaked charts showing it smack in the middle between the 680 and 690, which seems far too low for a $999 MSRP and leaves almost no room for the 780. Guess we'll have to wait and see...

Anandtech already explained why the Titan cost a kilo: It's within 15% of the 690, consumes less power, produces less heat, over-clocks & over-volts, 3x the usable RAM(!), and 4x the compute(!).

GK114 should be 15% faster than GK104 at similar resolutions, but still 15-20% slower than Titan.

Yeah that's what I was hoping, PCP probably didn't test overclocked titan vs overclocked 690. My guess is it will lose by a very small amount in games that support SLI, and in games that lack SLI support Titan will win by a fair amount.

I got authorization from the wife to purchase at least one of these; but I honestly cannot justify a 40-60%(Speculative) increase from the GTX 680 for twice the price. The best part about Titan is that inevitably, GTX 680s will be flooded into the used market.

Ok so guru3d clocked the card 40% from 876 to 1176. Wonder what will the vram oc like and the bandwidth would be. People that are going to wc the card might see 690 performance with this card. Coupled with a block the card will be priced similar to 690.

I agree! This is what I'm looking for as well. In fact a GPU rendering comparison with various software, not only V-Ray RT, would be even more interesting.
