I don't know much about what you do, but benching $2000 graphics setups on air/water sounds like a ridiculously expensive hobby. What guys like Alatar and ftw420 to name a couple do is significantly different, though, and if you're in that crowd of subzero cooling and hardmod benchers I can definitely respect any expense.

Since when were you the judge of what people choose to spend their money on?

Once again, if you can't afford this card stick with your 660 Ti FTW thumb.gif

Wait for the benchmarks. There is reason why most the reviewers acknowledged that a single Titan is not a replacement for 690, but Titan sli is where you get the real benefits.

PCP claims their card runs at 1.1GHz core if they adjust the downclocking to 90C limit, and crank the fan up. GPU Boost 2.0 seems to do most of the overclocking for you.

GK114 should be 15% faster than GK104 at similar resolutions, but still 15-20% slower than Titan.

And the 7 series will start out in the $600 to $700 range, making the Titan not so bad of a deal. This will also keep the 6 series from experiencing a major price drop, maybe $25-$50 on each card. I explained in a different thread that the cost of everything, at least here in the states, is going up.

People need to stop neglecting the GPGPU side of things. If you just want to game, Titan is not for you. Get a 680/7970. If you game at high resolution and do CAD work and work with huge texture files etc, then Titan is worth every cent.

Exactly. I agree 100%. In a way, it's still good that people who are only interested in gaming performance are able to see it's not worth it for that usage scenario. I'm looking to the Titan for GPU rendering, and CAD work.

While I agree with Anandtech's reasons in some extend, people need to stop comparing a Titan@1176 with a stock 690.

I wanna see Titan@1176 AGAINST a GTX 680 minimum 1202-1254Mhz clocks or a GTX 690 OCed at reasonable average levels.

A heavily OCed Titan against a stock clocked(well probably it is) GTX 690 is a good way to show how CLOSE it can get to a stock 690 performance wise.. But it's just for that.

Then we have the other group saying that these points doesn`t matter to them, plastic fantastic is great, performance is everything and it better come out cheap or else they won`t buy it. They live by their golden rule price/performance. Not much to argue against here, just as valid as the first group.

And around and around we go. Stuck with our own opinions, doing as best we can to try to argue why this or that is better. And we do not realize that this is just nature revealing itself: People are different.

Since when people stopped buying stuff they CANNOT afford? biggrin.gif
