i was just wondering what you guys think is the fastest mirror for Fedora core 6 dvd? the fastest i have seen so far is Fedora.server4you.net and i get ~ 500 kbs i have gotten 900+ kbs downloads of other programs so i was wondering if you have found a better one maybe we could make a list of top downloads for linux distros that would probably be very helpfull

I pull an average 1.1mbps from USF's mirrors, but their main campus is only about 20 minutes from me. It's all about how close you are to the server. Colleges are great for getting fast downloads, becuase everybody has one localy.

Well I usually get the best average from my schools mirror, but OSU seems to always be fast for me too. Link

I pick the Kent server and get pretty decent rates (max my line out) but I would recommend bit torrent over HTTP.

well the closest mirror i can find is in buffalo and i live in Rochester (NY) and that only gives me a 200 kbs Dl is there any way i can go to a college and ask them to mirror a distro? or maybe ask my ISP to host a Mirror so i can Dl straight from them?

I tried to find a torrent Downloader but the sites were saying that average Dl speeds were around 100 kbs so i decided to use http or FTP
