Now I am going through the process of waiting for said item. If I don't receive said item, that to me is a bait and switch. In the mean time, Walmart can make interest off of my $20 for a product I bought that they don't carry. I cannot make interest on that money, because I don't have it anymore. Do you see the problem here? Just because you are conditioned to believe that big corporations should be allowed to do as they wish with no consequences, some of us don't feel that way.
I completely understand where you're coming from, but at the end of the day, there's nothing you can do. You can complain and vow to never shop there again, but that's about the extent of what will happen.
These sort of price mistake threads pop up on SD all the time and there are always atleast a handful of people that feel the same sense of self entitlement. Whatever kindness they decide to bestow upon you in the form of a coupon or otherwise is strictly of their own goodwill.
People always throw out legal jargon like they're going to take some legal action. You can't and you won't. The biggest difference between buying from Walmart.com and a door to door salesman? When you checkout at Walmart - you are agreeing to Walmart's Terms of Sale - which protects them in these cases. Second, you have to prove that Walmart deliberately performed a bait and switch - which won't happen. Third, the cost of even filling this at small claims court in whatever state you're in is probably several times what the value of this case is in the first place. That, in conjunction with the fact that the odds are against you in this matter, makes it completely irrational to even start such a process.
Time is money. Let it go, move on and be happy.
