Mint 14 black screen

Thread Starter
Trying to install Mint 14 cinnamon. when I select to boot in linux I get a black screen. I found some instructions for how to fix this, however I do not know how to get to the grub file to add "nomodeset" redface.gif
Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this? If it matters, system is A10 5800k apu with a 7970.
Thanks in advance for any help that comes my way.

When you are booting, once grub is loaded, select the entry you want and pres 'e', that will let you edit your grub entry for that boot, once you add your option press 'b' to boot.
Once you boot successfully you'll need to edit your "/etc/default/grub" file and run "update-grub".
