You should be more stunned at the fact they ruled out ivy bridge all together considering ivy bridge has taken the mainstream spot for almost a year now and Vishera has been out less than half.

Yes I am patting my self on the back.

A) Because I paid almost $100 dollars less for a CPU and can run this game (which was my primary focus) on the same level and slightly better than a 2500K.

B) I dont know where you get the 8% faster than sandy, but lets asume your correct. How far can a 3570K overclock with out the need to risk a delid or water cooling? 4.5GHz is the answer typically. I should know I owned one. I vishera easily reaches 4.8GHz min, and most get to 5GHz. Considering they are all still much cheaper than a 3570K Yes I recommend vishera all day long. thumb.gif

It goes back to AMD releasing actual cores and not wavering HT around. Even the "cores" that they use now, have more resources per "core" than having a core split two threads. I'm guessing you are starting to see threads do actual work loads, so HT gets shunted a little when it is required to do some heavy hitting. Not a surprise, just hope more programming follows this. I'm still on Phenom II, sadly I won't be able to see this nice gain.

FX core scaling is good, a sign of things to come?

Still silly an Intel chip can deliver higher frame rates with less core utilisation.

Sorry didn't know you would bring irrelevancy into your answer so here it goes.
A) Let's assume people buy these processors at retail or even newegg prices that would mean: FX6300-$140 i5 2500k-$220 i5-3570k-$230 meaning people pay an extra $80-90 difference for performance in http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/699?vs=288 (6300 vs 2500k) , and keep in mind that's vs the 2500k just to be fair to the argument however the argument was the 8350 vs the 3570k which in results leaves a $30 dollar difference between the processors which still http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/697?vs=701 (8350 vs 3570k) significantly favors 3570k which to be fair was initially AMD's competitor with the 8350. Though you claim to have crisis 3 (avoiding pure fact of processor power in all other areas outside pertaining game) as your sole purpose but I didn't know you'd bring in the matter of money considering you spent $700 to play solely crisis but I deter.

a) "same level" pertains to this game alone but it completely disregards the processor offers, pcie 3.0, quick sync, integrated graphics, etc.

B)

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5626/ivy-bridge-preview-core-i7-3770k/18 You're looking at a 5 - 15% increase in CPU performance over Sandy Bridge at a similar price point
Giving 8% is being generous wouldn't you think? Now you fall to the fact of overclocking on a 3570k so lets play. The 3570k base clock is at 3.4(3.8 turbo) vs the base clock of 8350 of 4.0(4.2 turbo) and considering in majority of benchmarks (outside this one) favor the ivy bridge processor more concluding clock for clock performance goes to ivy bridge. The fact that you stated 4.5ghz, a 1100 mhz overclock hurts you more than aided your argument. Lesson of the story? It doesn't matter if the vishera is clocked at 6ghz if it's performance clock for clock is 2/3 of ivy, hypothetically speaking.

graphic card killer,i dont know how much money did AMD and NVidia pay for the crytek :-)
strongly pushing the graphic card market

Finally a game that should destroy my 680.
Good for AMD, competition is always better for everyone. Hopefully they improve hyperthreading performance cause' I just bought an i7 3770k. Looks like it was a good upgrade for this game.
This site seems to leave out the 3570k and 3770k often

....nice to see how useful AMD's cores are!

It doesn't look like hyperthreading is very useful in this game.

Good to see AMD catching up, Intel deserves some competition.

I'm surprised this game crushes most graphics cards out there even at 1080p. Is the multiplayer any less demanding?
Wow... My 2500k finally dethroned by an FX.

Nice! thumb.gif No... not nice! mad.gif i want to enjoy better FPS too frown.gif

I hope this trend doesn't continue, my 2500k needs to last me till next year at least but if it's robbing me of FPS then changes must be made.

Or they didn't bother to optimize use for it considering this is a gaming evolved title.
