Intel extremes getting their rightful place on top of the food chain, hyperthreaded i7s soundly beating their i5 breathren and Visheras claiming their spot in the sun as great gaming CPUs. Dual cores can finally rest in piece.

A moment of silence for all the great dual cores of our time like the X2's , E8400 monsters, and even the recent G620's. sad-smiley-002.gif

Do we know how well scaling would be?

Like, for instance, SLI 670s?

I know, my 6300 at 4.6 ghz finally is flexing a bit. GPU reading at 100% usage. No bottlenecks

I can safely report I definitely cannot max this game at 1080p w/ my FX-8350 & overclocked 7970ghz edition (1200 core/ 1600 mem for this game). Dropping down to all high settings is much more manageable but can and will drop below 30 in the biggest open fights though it usually hangs around 45-50fps on high on average, or atleast it seems to. 13.2 b6 drivers.

Also, does any else notice the bad AA support in this game? Seems like going from 2x to 4x to 8x msaa shows about zero change except in performance and memory usage. Speaking of which, max settings @ 1080p w/ 4x msaa is over 2gb used so anyone noticing choppyness it's probably hitting a vram wall.

Either way, game looks gorgeous, but more so on the effects side. Ladies and gents, this is no "WOW" game like the original crysis was unfortunately, but we've come to expect miracles on the graphical front.

This game is extremely demanding. At 1440P my GTX 680's 2GB of VRAM gets maxed out and that's without any AA. But even before that happens, it's just not playable. It feels like ~15-20fps. But the detail in this game is amazing. It's much better looking than C2 imo, which had a very "plastic" look to me. C3 just looks so... detailed.

But the AI is still terrible. And I mean terrible. Cloak is just so overpowered, again.

This is the most important trend. with PS4 and Xbox Next most probably having 8 Jaguar cores the next gen engines / games are going to be able to utilize 8 threads. AMD and Intel should seriously consider 4 threads on even the entry level CPUs like Pentium and Athlon at USD 60+ . two threads will not cut it any more. dual thread CPUs should be restricted to less than USD 50 priced CPUs like celeron and sempron.
