Monitors for Graphics/Video production and some gaming

Hi all,

I've just finished my first ever build (with a lot of help from these forums) and have now got to the stage where I need some monitors. I thought this bit might be quite straightforward but as a bit of googling showed me...it's not so much.

If you guys could give me an info or help steer me to some choices that would be amazing.

I work in motion graphics and video production so that is the primary use but I also play some games so it would be cool if I could cater to both. I'm looking to get two full HD monitors around 23 inches for about £100-£140 each?

I was looking at these two but have no idea what IPS is or how to know which is better? Or if they are both awful for the money.

And also my build if that's helpful

Thanks!

Both are nice, but the LG IPS will be a notably better for image and video processing if color accuracy is important.

One more quick question, I read somewhere that 23inch monitors cause the GPU to have to work harder, is this true and does it actually make that much difference?
