Achieva ShiMian Tempered, glass shattered, still usable?

I bought this monitor
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-NEW-Achieva-ShiMian-QH270-IPSI-27-LED-Monitor-TEMPERED-GLASS-2560x1440p-/321067217511?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item4ac118f267

When it arrived, I saw the tempered glass was shattered . I didn't want to bother returning it, so I removed the shattered glass and am using it without. As to my understanding, this should not pose a problem, right? (I've read somewhere that the the panel is just a "Lite" with added glass).

[Update, fixed thanks to ShiftStealth]
On to my real problem.
I am unable to select 2560 x 1440 as a resolution in yWin7 Pro. The highest setting is 1980x1080 which is tagged as "recommended". I tried to create a custom resolution of 2560 x 1440 with 32bpp and automatic timings, which the screen will show but it will flicker and everything is blurry, as when choosing a non-comformed resolution. I am using the included DVI cable and have verified it is attached to my DVI-D port on my Asus GTX660 card. Im using the latest Nvidia drivers.

Make sure its a dual link cable.

Have you tried creating a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel?

It's DVI-D single link :-/
I guess thats why. Weird to sell a WQHD monitor and not supply a matched cable.
Thank you for this, I will go buy the correct cable smile.gif
