So after sifting through some old posts regarding gaming headsets/headphones, I've found sufficient backup to the fact that these are the best you can get for gaming.

I do have a few questions, though.

Would you consider this set near the best for general music listening? Right now I use the Shure e2c's, but I am always very conscious of them in my ear, and they do bother me after a while. I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, because I do sacrifice quality for space(192kbps MP3's is the best ratio I've found), but I am a musician, and I cannot stand sound quality below a certain level.

Furthermore, I would not spend over $200 on a pair of cans that will just sit next to my rig all day, and I can't use for music, movies, plugging into my guitar amp, etc.

So please, any re-assurance that these are one of the best pairs of headphones I can buy(or if they aren't, explain that to me).

Thanks in advance,
Amped

Yes, I am planing on buying those headphones too. I think that they would be great for everything. Just make sure to get the 80 ohm version. They also have a lot of upgrading pathways, like getting and amp, or getting darthed.

Can you link to the 80 ohm version, and possibly explain what the difference is?(If not I'll check wikipedia)

It is my understanding that the 80 ohm version is better than the 250 and 32 ohm because it has more bass than the 32, and doesn't need to be amped as much as the 250. although, check http://www.head-fi.org just to be sure.

for gaming you want the 80Ohm version as they are can be driven w/o an amp. you should check head-fi to get some questions answered about the cans... I've never heard them, but really would like to

Alright, well I just made an offer on ebay to a guy for $100. I figure if I can get them for that price(after all I've read), they're the best option. If he rejects the offer, $50 more isn't that bad, and since I don't want to spend that much, Christmas present they become.

Gracias a todos.

If that falls through I hear the Sennheiser HD595's are great for all-around headphones, as well. I think you can find them for about $180 new

Well the guy didn't accept the offer, and my father didn't make a counter-counter-offer because he wasn't sure how much I wanted to spend. So it looks like I'm gonna do a little more research and see what Amped wants for Christmas.
