Graphics memory usage

that is all.
Wow thanks alot looiam thumb.gif
Well my GTX580 lightning 1.5G VRAM must use VH+FXAA then. But I think in other(crowded) level it will need more VRAM.

Probably the cpu bottlenecking things because of all the small moving particles.

/Crys I wish I got 2 7950s...
Did you use 1 GTX670? or 2 GTX670 but disabled SLI? Please use only 1 , mate. I wanna see it directly from user smile.gif

Just one 670

maxed out but SMAA2x 1080p

I dont have a screencap but here is what i got:

MSI Afterburner Reported 1375MB Vram usage per card, While GPU-Z Reported a total of 2800MB vram usage (which is 1400x2, so i assume that is a both-card reading)
I was under the impression that you do not add the VRAM values of both cards, but when i see people with single cards reporting 2600MB of vram being used, it makes me wonder if that has changed....

Just tried playing the first level with everything on high, at 1440p and no AA. Maxed out my VRAM straight away, 2GB usage on my single card. Framerate dropped into sub 20fps right away with a 7870XT 2GB.

Gonna have to wait for the 7950 I just ordered to arrive...

Wow thanx Ashtyr thumb.gif so it will consume approximately 1400MB for a single card with very high setting and 2xMSAA? or high setting?

What do you mean by "2GB usage on my single card"?? single GTX570 only has 1280MB VRAM, right? Or you mean SLI GTX570?

This is all confusing me. If it really did multiply usage per card, this guy is using 1.2 Gb with x8 MSAA? That seems a bit lower than what I would have thought, since most people are using less MSAA, and getting about the same or more usage. I'm running x4 myself and it's flawless, but haven't spent much time playing the game as of yet. I'll play with it later and see what I get.

Actually you can increase VRAM usage in Crysis 3 by entering this command:

r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 1024

This command increase dedicated VRAM for textures from default 512MB to 1024MB.

I have tried it and it really works, now Crysis 3 uses up to 2.1GB of VRAM (default was up to 1.7GB) , settings are Very High, FXAA and 1920 x 1024.

If I turn up AA to 8x MSAA theh VRAM usage shoots up to 2.7GB (HD7950 3GB card)..

CHEERS..

MSAAx8 not x4 and I am running 3 monitors.With FXAA I us 1850 mb.

You see in sli vram is not doubled but mirrored so with 3 cards I stile have only 4 gb of vram. That is why there was so many compliance with the gtx 690 that shows 4 gb on the box but in realty only uses 2gb vram since the 690 is two 680 with 2 gb vram.
