And in February, it was revealed that Nvidia is helping the team behind the Ouya, the wildly successful Kickstarter campaign for an Android-based $99 gaming console, max out its Tegra 3 processor.

Building a new HQ when both Intel (slowing revenue) and AMD (mass layoffs, weak revenue) are having problems in fighting for the tablet and smartphone marketshare? That's bold.

There's more than just Intel and AMD in the chip business. Especially in the mobile market.

Regardless, competition is good.

It's probably worth pointing out, then, if you want to play the revenue card, that Nvidias profits and revenues have been steadily increasing. Considering they're the one doing the expanding, and moving into a new market, it makes a lot of sense.

Still bold, but not crazy.
