Regardless of whether their lawsuit ends in a win or a loss, I have to say that I really have no respect for companies that blatantly rip off another company's design. Seriously, if you don't have the skills to make a non-generic product, take a hint from Apple and just hire a design firm to do it.

Just like Apple is the biggest joke in the computer industry. And yet there they both are, selling like crazy, being enjoyed by millions. There is a lot more to purchasing choices than pure performance or specs, even if you don't agree.

What are you talking about? Have you heard of Jonathan Ive, the most highly regarded and brilliant industrial designer of the modern world who just HAPPENS to be Apple's head of design? Apple does all of their design internally, and they are very proud of it.

The only issue is that you have to pay $400, when a $100 headphone has similar quality...

Apparently these Yahmaha give sound you'd expect in that price range. Given that Yahmaha is a hugely successful and respected name in the audio business.. putting out a crappy pair of a headphones just to make a quick buck would look bad on they're reputation. They were probably hoping that they could steal every single sale from Beats by giving customers the audio quality they are paying for.

If I was forced to choose between them, I'd take the Yamahas.

Beats are a joke, average sound quality and over-exaggerated bass, like a cheap logitech set of 2.1 speakers...
