LOL. Too bad all of our "battle powers" would be absolutely pathetic.

The internet has not taken over our lives, but has more or less become integrated with it.
We have a very big tradition of going to coffee shops with friends almost everyday , and you see lots of people on their phones but still not "zombie groups".
Maybe we have something nice to see outside:

City of Coimbra ( nationalist shameless plug?)

But yeah I think this Google glasses will have great applications and i'm only now thinking about getting a tablet but this seems a logical next step. And I really want to see the ability to project information on walls and stuff like that, It would be amazing.

Don't look at this and see what it currently is... see the potential.

Portable phones used to be a huge setup that nobody would dream of having unless they absolutely had to. That evolved into a plain phone that fit into your pocket, then again into the smartphones we have today.

I bet in 2025 this sort of thing will become as common as smartphones are today.

I'm also shocked at how resistant people on a tech site are to new technology tongue.gif. This is the sort of thing I would expect from random people who don't like computers, not from tech enthusiasts. None of you could see the benefit of being able to read a book or browse OCN on your glasses? Or post about a PC problem to OCN while working on it, then getting the updates? Looking up the BIOS settings to tweak on your overclock while overclocking... there's billions of things that are possible when the tech matures a little.

I hate wearing contacts
How am I supposed to wear google glasses on top my regular glasses.
Will they have prescription google glasses in the future or are glasses wearers just left out?

Considering even GUNNAR has perscription options, something from Google is going to have it. Right now there's a sunglasses attachment, I'd assume Rx lenses and even transitions would be available once this goes retail.

What do you reckon they will retail for eventually when google is ready to launch these babies?

I would like to see awesome camera quality. As I can imagine using them for taking photos and short videos more than anything else.

Quite often I see interesting things I'd like to take photos of but usually cant be bothered to take my phone out or don't want to to make subjects uncomfortable by taking phone out to take their photos.

also I'm really excited about google now integration with this.
so that me just approaching the bus stop would prompt the glasses to show me when the next bus is coming. that would be really cool.
Oh come on, just imagine a day when you can be walking around, and a little HUD icon will tell all you desperate change resistant geeks that the lovely lady (or man) sitting across from you on the bus is also a lonely desperate single geek tongue.gif

Who knows, you might even talk. No, not anonymously text, actual human face to (glass covered) face interaction!

If you are at all interested just submit an application.

If selected you will receive an invite which you can then decline. It would be neat just to see if your idea interests them!
