The measurements clearly show that two nuclei are completely overwhelmed, even with the current Pentium G2120 "Ivy Bridge" technology is not more than 20 min-fps out. This is possible, thanks to SMT is, only the Core i3-3220, but again, the frame rates are only playable in the tough field. The 60-euro Athlon X4 740X may well set the scene, it is not much slower than the 100-euro i3. The two popular models Phenom II X4 965 and Core i5-760 cut off useful, the Phenom II X6 1100T is thanks to six cores around a fifth faster. The secret star but is the 115-euro FX-6300, which itself hits the Core i5-2500K. The FX-8350 for 170 euros can soon do the twice as expensive Core i7-3770K behind, only the Core i7-3960X is faster than the FX.

Here is another benchmark that shows just how well the AMD FX CPUs perform in Crysis 3. Please don't turn this thread into another AMD vs. Intel argument.

Mods, if anything is wrong with the formatting please fix it. This is my first news post. biggrin.gif

This is an entirely different source. Many people didn't believe the other benchmark so I posted another one that confirms the data.

That's interesting... now two sites are saying the same thing. At least this one included the IB processors, but where's the 2600k?

Cool, they put both i7-3770K and i5-3570K (equal price with FX-8350) and FX-8350 beats both of them. Maybe this is the future of CPU, more cores (I know it's not everything). FX series seems like they have the future proof?

Locked as we only need one thread per news article.
