I would not stop till i had a new rad!

The problem is the 3 month delay before mentioning it. I mean that's even outside of the window for filing a claim with UPS/FedEx/USPS. I've always had great customer service with Performance PCS with defective items (most recently from XSPC) and they have always hooked me up promptly (and let me keep the defective item) but the time on this is kind of hard to get past. One or two weeks is one thing, but three months?

I mean I have a REALLY dirty trick you could get your money out of, but it would cost you about $20, the address of a buddy, and a couple days/week to file a claim. rolleyes.gif

Life gets in the way. I took the rad out when I first got it to and for some odd reason didn't notice notice the dent. Not my best moment. It then sat in its box until this past week when i finally had the time to start putting together my build. I'm waiting to hear back on my last emails to both Alphacool and Performance PCs. Hopefully, one of them steps up and takes care of this. While I'm outside of the exchange period this seems like an issue that should still be covered under warranty. Worst case, I guess I'll compulsively leak test it and think positive thoughts. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

It's got nothing to do with Alphacool. It's between you, the vendor and the delivery service unless of course the rad came from the factory like that. I'm pretty sure an auto radiator repair shop can fix it easily if you're open to it. Then just respray it black.

I see three possibilities: (1) it was dented at the factory; (2) it was dented en route to Performance PCs; (3) it was dented en route to me from Performance PCs. First two scenarios are on Alphacool, last one should be on the vendor. No real way to know when the dent happened, except that I know it didn't happen after I got it. I messed up not checking this thing enough, but whatever the return policy someone should be replacing this with what I payed for IMO.

It would be an easy repair ... it just needs to have the end tank removed and pounded flat then braise welded back on. It would just need repainting.
Personally I wouldn't bother with it unless its in an easily visible place in your build because it won't do any harm.

I have spent almost $2000 with PPC's in the last year and they have always taken care of me asap when something comes like that. That being said I check my stuff very closely when I get it while I video tape myself opening up the box and inspecting the products. I feel your pain but I don't see how you can be mad they won't replace it since you've had 3 months to contact them about it. Customer service is one thing but wanting a company to fix something this long after you received it and haven't said anything to them? There is no way for anyone to prove you didn't do it on accident, not saying that you did either. I hope it doesn't leak as it shouldn't affect performance at all and those are kick ass rads smile.gif.

Bummer....
I can sympathize with all the sides of the issue. The situation just sucks. That dent would drive me crazy and I totally understand why you would want it fixed but I also understand the perspective of the vendors. They don't want to get stuck with a dented radiator either. I'd bet that it got dented in shipping and some carrier should have covered it. It's a tough situation because of the delay. At this point I agree that your best bet would be a radiator repair shop and some spray paint. thumb.gif
