Dat precipitation.

The sun is so massive even the rain storms create their own gravity O_o

Perfectly stated!

I had the same thought. Then I thought, "Why am I working on all of these programming courses when space fascinates me WAY more than computers?"
Then I realized NASA isn't in Chattanooga, Tn and lots of programming jobs are lol.

None the less, thanks OP for posting, truly spectacular!

If NASA is around that time, I'm sure they can predict exactly what time the "Red Giant Event" will begin.
In which case we would know when it starts beforehand, and 8 minutes after it started we would see the effects.

In any case, this is all besides the point.

The point I was making was that although anything we witness happening to the Sun is 8 minutes after it actually occurred, for "all intensive purposes" it actually is happening instantaneously because to us the event doesn't occur until the light from the event hits us.

they should make a movie about this......no just the earth cracking up and volcanoes....but having the sun getting biggger and biiggger and BIIGGGERRRR

then it explodes and the main characters are evaporated just after some climatic intimate notion

They already made that movie, and it was terrible. It had Nicholas Cage in it, and it looked like it was going to be some awesome government conspiracy movie...then the aliens showed up. Hollywood loves to use aliens when the writers don't know what the hell they're doing.

"So... what happens next?"
"I dunno.... I mean... we've set up this great plot, it's very deep, but I dunno where to go from here...."
"Let's just use aliens."
"Ok."

Cheers for the video! simply marvelous!

That is, indeed, amazing. I assume he hasn't figured out we don't live in the 1100's anymore, that the world isn't flat and that the earth spins around the sun, not the other way round. If he hasn't don't tell him, he might want to drag you in front of the inquisition and try to banish you to some remote island for heresy wink.gif

'2012'

I didn't think it was that bad, would have been better if they'd used a real actor instead of Nicholas Fail.

What lol?

"2012" did not have Nicolas Cage or have anything to do with the Sun burning up the Earth.

The movie you want is "Knowing".

I personally think Nicolas Cage is a great actor. He just signs up for any movie. Even if it clearly is bad from the get go.
Anyone could clearly tell the director was worth nothing in this movie. The writers were horrible as well.

There are no doubt some roles Nicolas didn't fit or even overacted a bit, but I have never watched a movie and thought "I can't watch this because of Nic!"
I have watched all Nic movies all the way through.

Hating on Nic is just the "cool" thing to do because very little people realize there is much more people that decide how the movies is portrayed then the lead actor.

Makes me wish I had done physics rather than engineering.

Is it just me or would that video make an awesome screen saver?

"What's that on your monitor?"

"Oh that? That's just a plasma rain several times the size of the Earth falling back down to the surface of the Sun, nothing special really..."

The Universe is AMAZING teaching.gif, this is probably nothing compared to some of the other spectacular stuffs that happens in space.

If you think the whole "earth to scale" thing at the beginning of the video is amazing... look at this GIF. Our minds can't even comprehend how small we are/how massive the universe is.
