Man, you must be pretty old, I think there was no DRM on Spacewar! but even when this old guy was a kid we had to do things like enter word 12, from paragraph 3, on page 10 to continue.

I want to make it clear that I don't like always on DRM at all, I love GOG.com and try and buy as many games as I can from them, but right now the reality is that the major publishers are not willing to release without DRM and not enough gamers care enough to stop buying the games.

So in that context Steamworks is as good as it gets. Literally. If you are running Steam and lose your Internet connection unexpectedly you have 90 days, three months, to play your games before you have reconnect to the Internet and if you know you are going to be without Internet service, say you are traveling or camping, you can go into offline mode and never connect again.

When you couple that with all the benefits, the sales, the Workshop, friend's list, etc., Steam offers a service that outpaces any of its online rivals by light years.

I have started to hate Steam for many reasons which I won't go into details here. I'm an Origin user now. thumb.gif

I just want to see the reaction when this exact same type of language is used to justify streaming games.

I will say that using Steam is an improvement over the Securom, which makes my ARMA 2 disk a coaster.

GOG.com would have been much preferable, however.

I'd love to see what this thread would look like if it was about a game being published only on Origin...joy, joy joy.

I'm actually excited for this game, ARMA 2 was actually quite an awesome game, way more fun than I thought it would be, even if it was dayz that got me interested in it

I hope that ARMA 3 will bring epic mod support like ARMA2, and fix many of the the issues ARMA 2 has, like vehicles they need loads of work tongue.gif

I must say that if ever a game needed to be "Steamed" it would be Arma - the updates for that game are horrible to install. The mods are also horrible but maybe this can change it.biggrin.gif

I love GOG.com and primarily try to buy from them first so as to support the DRM free model. Unfortunately a lot of publishers won't publish their games there until they have been out for a couple years.

I can handle dealing with steam if it means earlier release date. This game has been behind closed doors too long. Us grow ups need it. FPS games suck.

Question I want to know is AMD or Nvidia game. You'd think Nvidia.
