different isometric rpgs play very...differently.

Yes they do, but not so differently that they become unplayable just because someone uses a different periphiral to play. If the correct scheme is setup for the game then it should never be an issue. This is all very dependant on developer design of the control scheme.

Moving and aiming is never something that should ever really be an issue. It's not like I am having to aim a cursor all the time on a control pad for a console version. It's almost like playing a completely different game. Sacred 2 on PC compared to Sacred 2 on console is almost a night and day experience. I can say the same about Torchlight. I don't really expect Diablo 3 to be much different. Time will tell though.

I respect your opinion, you even raise some interesting points, but I don't really agree with you (for the most part anyway). As with Vonnis, I guess well just have to agree to disagree on this one. I know one thing for definite and that is I'll be very happy to use a control pad in Diablo 3. I just wish they implemented it on the PC version. Who knows, maybe there's hope for that yet with the inevitable release of the console versions (as long as they don't suffer the same fate as Starcraft Ghost).

yeah well i can see why you'd prefer controllers for isometric rpgs in some ways. clicking for movement adds a layer of abstraction that lowers the level of immersion, imo. on the other hand, it allows for more technical, fast paced gameplay and precise targeted skills. though with the massive hitboxes in this game currently, blizz kind of threw the second part out the window already

If you're competent you can activate the skill very quickly, but due to the skills mechanics you're always waiting on the transportation effect of the skill. This isn't really anything the control scheme can ever resolve, regardless of periphiral.

Alot does ride on how Blizzard implement the control scheme and which variant they decide to use. I think they know their own games well enough to make it work pretty well though.

That's the thing though, since shadowstep takes some time to activate you have a bit of a breather between uses, giving you time to set up the next move while the first is in motion. A skill like vault activates immediately and only takes a very short time, so you have hardly any time to line up the next one if you're using it a few times in quick succession. 3-4 quick vaults have saved my DH's ass countless times when there's enemies, plague puddles and fire everywhere, and it's these situations that I think may be problematic with a controller due to how fast you have to react.
Funnily enough I have absolutely no interest in ever owning a console, but I'm quite interested in seeing how Blizzard is going to make this work. tongue.gif

but yeah, in those situations where you have to vault multiple times, there's no way i feel like i could do that efficiently. in those, "oh ****" situations i'd probably die before i got my first vault off

Same here, but to be fair I'm not good with controllers. I'm sure someone who actually owns a console and thus uses a controller all the time can pull off things that seem pretty much impossible to me, even if it isn't quite as fast as what can be achieved with a mouse.

I see the point you are raising but I don't think I'd find it a problem personally using that format. I used to play alot of Geometry Wars so having no time to breath is something I'm pretty used to. :D

I could think of ways to make it faster and easier to use than Sacred 2's style with other control schemes however (pull trigger, aim with analog stick, release trigger as one example, which would be faster to do than you think as long as the layout is correct). They may even implement the touchpad for aimed skills on the PS4 version.

I'll take your word for it. smile.gif Like I said I'm not good with controllers; I have a hard time imagining how to use one for a game like this and in my hands using one would probably look like the world's slowest train crash. tongue.gif

You can't "merge" the two accounts but there should be noting stopping you from changing your steam email to your more used e-mail address. See --> https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3176-RTKC-3810

In the latest episode of Pach Attack, Michael Pachter says that " who cares aboud Diablo 3 on consoles "

I kinda agree.

Diablo 3 is not a graphically demanding game and people with mediocre laptops can even play the game. So gamers who does not own a gaming PC but owns a console, probably played the Diablo 3 in their laptops or regular desktops. So this might not be a success but it is good news that projects like that can exist in Sony's console.

The game has been out for some time now too.
