The extended ending ruined the indoctrination theory since it talks briefly on what happens afterwards.

Huh. That's actually the best way anyone's ever put it. Depressing, but true.

Can you like me to where its been denied? I've looked around a little and it seems as if BW has only made small hints so far.

I've seen the extended cuts and I disagree, however, I rest on my own opinions with a certain amount of doubt as well.

Either way, this video makes a good case:

Good way to describe it, I think most people had the same reaction to it.

Looking forward to the DLC tough; even if the ending were awful in a lot of ways, the game was a great ending in itself. It closed all the previous games choices in an epic way (Tuchanka & cie)... it's the way I have choosed to see it to not get too upset about the series as I was so sad at the end of ME3.

Still, I think the writers / dev are loving this, make people reacting so much about a game; it speaks for itself I'd say. What I don't understand is why they don't release a " war asset" ending DLC, just to have cameo at least; would make things way better (and give some kind of reward). At least their multiplayer is very good.

I guess we'll know it soon enough, still, I don't believe it anymore...

For me Mass Effect 3 was seriously lacking in content compared to the others. On Mass Effect 2 I played on the hardest difficulty and did every little thing possible to get a perfect play through. I had about 4 runs through all of mass effect 2. Mass Effect 3 I have only played through one time. I played the game on the hardest difficulty so that it would be more rewarding when I beat it. There seemed to be almost no personal side quests and I cleared the game in less than 24 hours.

For me the only way I can handle the ending to Mass Effect 3 was the indoctrination theory. I have watched numerous of the long documentaries on it. I could honestly care less if bioware says it is false it made more sense than what they gave us. The hour long 40 min video posted earlier in the thread is fantastic. I highly suggest everyone watches it.

Overall ME3 has been bittersweet. It's sad to see a great fictional universe run through the meat grinder. On the other hand it's entertaining to see just how far a group of shameless people can drive a great thing into the ground. I can't wait to see how many more corners they can cut with ME4 and so on. They should go for the gold and outsource all production overseas. Maybe they'll even beat out Big Rigs, The War Z, or Aliens: Colonial Marines. Go for the gold EA (and Hudson!) thumb.gif

Mass Effect 3 was good except for the awful ending and the linearity that was introduced in ME2, great characters and writing which at this point people just expect from bioware, while no other studios can emulate this kind of quality. I knew the ending of Mass Effect 3 was going to be bad just due to the format of the reapers, an almighty powerful alien being that cannot be stopped conventionally and thats when they had to resort to lame stuff like the crucible. Mass Effect and all Bioware games in general are not about the story or the ending but the journey there and immersing you in its world.

The Witcher is much the same way, horrible horrible story and I expect a horrible ending but its not about the story its about the journey there and immersing you in its world.

As for the DLC, I love how everyone calls bioware and EA greedy when they have released a plethora of free content for the Mass Effect 3 mp which is surprisingly good, has tons of classes and weapons/ items and the gameplay is awesome and they are just adding more content. I have had more fun with the mp of that game than the 60$ turd that was diablo 3. I have had friends who were hardcore diablo fans and when D3 came out they were beyond disappointed and started playing ME3 mp and loved it.

I got a theory about this. Since the beginning EA tried to casual'ize' Mass Effect franchise to attract more players therefore more money to them. However, the community they wanted was players who finish the game on easy difficulty and move on to next one. This community (i mean casual gamers) doesnt care about story and it's elements, characters and so on, so once they finished the game, they continued with another, no need to buy story DLC to reveal hidden things about the universe or more hours to play. These things are irrelevant for them.

In the end, EA lost the base RPG fans, these fellas lost their hope about Mass Effect due to the ending, like me. And most of them moved to Witcher 2. I was kinda witness of 'Take Mass Effect back' movement when it was happening, and saw most of these people moved to Witcher 2, mentioned it in BW's forums... Casual gamers also left the franchise, so there's no reason to make DLC about it. One more DLC for SP and MP and move to the next cr*p game.

I dont think that Mass Effect 4 will be successful. I dont think that it'll sell well, considering the success of ME1 and ME2. I do think ME4 will fail and Electronic Arts will interfere and this will result the change of the BW's staff or another studio like we saw in Halo 3-4 (Bungie - 343)

After a year, i'm still angry about Mass Effect's condition, it's like your friend is in intensive care, and you cant do anything about it, just watch how he's dying slowly. Maybe it's exaggerated but, this can express what i'm actually feeling about it.

In RPG games, there's no 'artistic integrity' because players are the ones who will shape their story in these type of games, developers will play the God and create limits in the game, apart from this it's up to players, it MUST be up to players. It worked in ME1, it worked in ME2, it worked in Dragon Age, it failed in DA2 and ME3, both were rushed by EA.

It's not all EA's fault for me though. If the developer (BW) doesnt have the guts to say 'WAIT, it's not done yet' or 'Hey look i need to make my game the way i want, so shut the hell up' It's their fault, not EA's.

Even with Shepard or not, one thing is certain, i'm not going to buy any Mass Effect games, i simply dont have money to throw out of window, and i dont have time to spend 100+ hours for a character who will die in the end like it's predecessor with this artistic garbage.

I never played ME3 myself. I watched my brother play it on the 360 and the total lack of quality across the board (especially sound mixing and quality) made my eyes roll into the back of my head. I never really started thinking of ME3 until now.

I agree with your theory on how EA killed post-release profitability. It's a lot more solid and concrete than my stereotypical greedy corporate theory. I can see how ME3 has alienated any loyal fans that would have bought future DLC.

I never really got angry about ME3. I knew that EA was going to kill it. Creating a game with multiple potential timelines in a game is a labor of passion, not a labor of business. EA doesn't understand passion, they only understand business. Like you said ME3 was rushed in the name of business.

I absolutely love ME3. The first one is god awful. Story is there, but game play blows. You have a billion different items you pick up that can be converted to some gel that can be slapped on computers and hack them. Terrible, terrible idea. Good thing that was removed. Second was the best IMO.

The ending wasn't anything special, but I thought it was pretty awesome when all the fleets begin the reclamation of Earth. Though I would have rather had the geth and quarians both shown when they are both recruited. Not one or the other. I've enjoyed the multiplayer and all the DLCs that have been released. Playing it with the high definition mods makes the game look really good too.
