This community (i mean casual gamers) doesnt care about story and it's elements, characters and so on, so once they finished the game, they continued with another, no need to buy story DLC to reveal hidden things about the universe or more hours to play. These things are irrelevant for them.
In the end, EA lost the base RPG fans, these fellas lost their hope about Mass Effect due to the ending, like me. And most of them moved to Witcher 2. I was kinda witness of 'Take Mass Effect back' movement when it was happening, and saw most of these people moved to Witcher 2, mentioned it in BW's forums... Casual gamers also left the franchise, so there's no reason to make DLC about it. One more DLC for SP and MP and move to the next cr*p game.
I dont think that Mass Effect 4 will be successful. I dont think that it'll sell well, considering the success of ME1 and ME2. I do think ME4 will fail and Electronic Arts will interfere and this will result the change of the BW's staff or another studio like we saw in Halo 3-4 (Bungie - 343)
After a year, i'm still angry about Mass Effect's condition, it's like your friend is in intensive care, and you cant do anything about it, just watch how he's dying slowly. Maybe it's exaggerated but, this can express what i'm actually feeling about it.
In RPG games, there's no 'artistic integrity' because players are the ones who will shape their story in these type of games, developers will play the God and create limits in the game, apart from this it's up to players, it MUST be up to players. It worked in ME1, it worked in ME2, it worked in Dragon Age, it failed in DA2 and ME3, both were rushed by EA.
It's not all EA's fault for me though. If the developer (BW) doesnt have the guts to say 'WAIT, it's not done yet' or 'Hey look i need to make my game the way i want, so shut the hell up' It's their fault, not EA's.
Even with Shepard or not, one thing is certain, i'm not going to buy any Mass Effect games, i simply dont have money to throw out of window, and i dont have time to spend 100+ hours for a character who will die in the end like it's predecessor with this artistic garbage.
