Sabertooth X79 2011 W/ Samsung 840 Pro --Quick Response Please!

Hey guys I was just looking for a quick response, I'm trying to get an order placed before the weekend, when all said and done. I've done quite a bit of research on the SSD's and I've concluded that "personally" I do like the Samsung 840pro's and seem to be a trending favorite.

However, I've looked and there seems to be problems with things like the IRST with the Sabertooth x79 LGA 2011 board.

Simply put, I just wanted to know if I am going to run into some wonky compatibility issues with the Samsung SSD's or if I should go for something else. I was planning on a Raid 0(with a different build in mind with the Rampage iV extreme) but I decided to go a different route, I don't plan on running Raid anymore, just a single OS drive more than likely.

I had the same question when with a P9X79 PRO and Windows 8, I noticed that the Win 8 disc optimizer didn't recognize my SSD and trim was not enabled. I was then running the Intel Rapid Storage Enterprise Driver.
I called Intel and was told to run the latest Intel Rapid Storage 11.7 driver that now has support for C600/X79 chipset. i installed it and Win 8 now recognizes my SSD and trim works.
If you are running Win 8 or even Win 7 I would recommend loading the IRST driver with the OS 'Add Driver' this way your set from the start and don't have to install the IRST software.

I'll check that out, I was aware the Samsung Pro's had trim capabilities.

Honestly, and not to go back on the raid subject, I know the pro's and more so con's of running Raid 0, but at this point with this board is it even beneficial or "applicable" to even consider running two SSD's in Raid or just leave it alone with a single OS on an SSD and call it a day?
