Ok hi guys... sorry temporary uh, girlfriend related interuption.
Here's the Deal.

I've got two brand new identical seagates. they are detected fine, and i set up the RAID array just fine in the BIOS and the Intel RAID setup utility.
I am able to creat the driver disk on my current PC, but when i put it in the new one and hit enter it doesn't seem to do anything. (it does the same thing as if there were no disk there.)
also it is the cable that came with the mobo and the Floppy drive is brand new. from the egg. i will try more cables if that will work

Do the hard drives show up in the windows installation or is it only in the BIOS? Make sure the configure IDE in the BIOS is set to raid.

Ok, are you doing the F2 method?

You should be using a set of floppies and a windows xp boot disk with the HDDs formatted. No exceptions.

What RAID controler are you trying to use? The Intel one or the JMicron one?

If your using the Intel, disable the JMicron controller. Then, insert the windows OS cd, and boot from that. Then, Install the Intel RAID drivers by pressing F6 on windows bootup (to the CD). Then the RAID drivers will load from the floppy drive (default A: drive). Once those are installed, you can proceed to installing windows.

Not sure i follow you here... i have no idea what the F2 method is. the HDD's are new, and i think the RAID array creation formatted them too.

F6...When you boot from the cd the first message you get is Press F6 if you have third part raid/scsi drivers. You MUST press F6...i do it repeatedly just incase =]. It should load nothing will come up for about 30 secs thats when you get a different screen than the normal installation. I ask you to specify the correct driver from the floppy disk you made. After that the raid array should show in the installation box.
