best unlocked 7970?

Hey guys,

Looking at getting a pair of 7970s and last time I had 2 I got shafted as they were the later revision of the windforce 3's that were voltage locked. In Aus we still have the Lightning Boost editions available but I was wondering if there were any other models that are worth consideration?

Other than Lightning BE I'd say the ASUS ROG MATRIX Radeon HD 7970 Platinum. They tend to be in thier own leagues, but also tend to best be used on other than air. On air, imo, Sapphire 7970 oc/boost puts up good numbers along with Msi oc/pe and His. I know the Sapphire and Lightnings are unlocked, probably Msi's too.

Ah see I will be putting them under water so I need something that is either reference designed board OR has a compatible waterblock.
