Just got a AS Rock LGA1155 Z77 EXTREME4 amongst other things ! i have a Question...thanks in advance!

Just took the leap, was gonna get a i7 but after reading all the things said about it on the forum decided to go with the

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K

hope i made a wise choice.....all im gonna do is play games and study (watch movies biggrin.gif )

this is all i purchased :

Delivery estimate: Feb. 23, 2013
1 "Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K"
Personal Computers; $223.79

1 "Kingston HyperX Beast 8 GB Kit (2x4 GB) 2400MHz DDR3 PC3-19200 Non-ECC CL11 DIMM XMP Desktop Memory KHX24C11T3K2/8X"
Personal Computers; $67.45

1 "Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H80i"
Personal Computers; $94.99

1 "AS Rock LGA1155 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 Quad CrossFireX and Quad SLI A GbE ATX Motherboard Z77 EXTREME4"
Personal Computers; $134.99

im super exited to try to OC this thing ...this is what ill be using from my old computer

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 @ 1100 core 1600 mem

OCZ VTX3MI-25SAT3-240G Vertex 3 Max IOPS 2.5" Solid State Drive - 240GB, SATA III 6Gbps

Antec TruePower New TP-750 750W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

my question being i have

4 x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model

i can return the Kingston HyperX Beast if the Gskill will get me a decent OC ...should i try with both of them or in your expert advice would the 4 sticks of slower memory not make a drastic difference???? could end up saving 67$

my other question i recently bought a Corsair H55 cause my old amd cooler sounded like a jet engine (it was absurd) and its super quiet so i love it ......i also purchased today the Corsair H80i i will only be keeping one ...is there a drastic difference in sound and performance (i know the box said yes but real life is a different thing)

Thanks in advance and im glad i joined your community since ive been reading on it for a while and love the help and positive attitude everyone has!

P.S. ill give positive rep to as many people i can that post something constructive !

If Extreme4 isn't shipped yet... get Extreme6. It's like $6 bucks more, but much better. It also comes with free 2x4GB RAM.

So I say 2 problems solved at once. Not much difference above 1600Mhz for general use and gaming.

H80i will perform much better. Not sure about noise.

I agree with the others, the Extreme6 is a much better board. thumb.gif

Also, if you want some serious overclocking RAM abilities, Samsung Wonder RAM is what to get. Don't have a link on hand, but search it up. It is known to clock to 2400 MHz+ on stock volts.

Offer from Newegg definitely worth waiting. Free RAM too. You can sign up for shoprunner trial if you are in hurry.

go with the extreme 6 like others have mention and if there is a chance look for the samsung "wonder" ram to save some money.
most will say that 1600mhz is already the sweet spot (correct me if i am wrong, anyone) for playing games and studying biggrin.gif
